Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)
What type of fabric do you use?
A high quality 100% cotton mercerized P.F.D. (Prepared For Dyeing) fabric is used. Not all PFD fabric is created equal and gives different results depending on the quality used.
Dye Powder or Natural?
I use MX Procion dyes.
What do the letters and numbers signify when I buy fabric?
When you buy a single color, the first two letter are the color family “BA = Basic” and the numbers “200” is the color. Therefore, if you purchase a color and you want more; all I need would be BA200 and the size. Also it helps me keep track of my inventory.
How big are your pieces?
At this time I have fat quarters only (18" x 22"), but if your able to come to see me at a quilt show there are additional sizes available. charm squares (5"x5") and fat 8ths (9" x 22").
Do you sell yardage?
No, Unfortunately it would be too expensive to you the quilter.
If I bring something to you, can you custom dye it?
The color has to be in my existing color pallet that is currently offered and I have a 6 x 1 yard minimum.
Do your colors run?
This is the most important question of all. My colors don’t run. All fabric is washed a minimum of 3 times using synthrapol (a special soap to remove excess dye) in 140 plus degree water.
When can I expect my order and how is it shipped?
Orders are processed within 3 days of receiving and then shipped USPS. Every effort is made to keep inventory current. However, if a particular color is out of stock and waiting to be dyed; I'll contact you to see if you want to wait or prefer that I ship a partial order.
What is your return policy?
Hand dyed fabric is unique and I cannot guarantee that the each time you buy a color it will be exactly the same. Color is influenced by time, temperature and quantity of dye to fabric. Which basically means that I maybe off a hair or two either way. But, if your really unhappy with my fabric, returns can only be accepted with the original invoice, the fabric in new condition and in the original fabric sleeve. Please email before sending items back. You may want to ship using a tracking number to ensure a safe return for your refund. Unfortunately, shipping charges will not be refunded.
